A provoked, mobile Deathworm will chase players until out of range, and can be quite tenacious in their pursuit.

Ice deathworms in the ice cave drop deathworm horns too, and they’re far easier to kill. You can shield and shotgun them down reasonably safely, and if you bring a thyla in a cryopod, it’s just deathworm horns, black pearls, organic poly and prime meat all day long.
How do you get a Deathworm?
The best way to farm Deathworm Horns is to hunt an Alpha Deathworm, which will drop 20 Deathworm Horns when killed. Aside from hunting the Alpha Deathworms, players can easily farm them by killing Iceworms, as these have low health and are relatively easy to kill.
What do Deathworms eat?
Death Worms will eat anything they come across. If they are at a small size, they can eat Filch Lizards, Fennec Foxes, Cobras, etc. If they are at full size, they can eat Husks, Villagers, Creepers, Camels, Pharaohs, etc. Death Worms also cannot be turned to stone of a Gorgon looks at them.
